"Whereas by a report of the Publick school building committee this day presented, it appears that the chamber appointed for boys is nearly ready for the reception of the school; Therefore resolved, that a school for boys on the Lancasterian or monitorial system be commenced, as soon as may be, under the following regulations..."
"In order that the benefit of the school may be extended not only to the most indigent of our citizens, but to those also whom industry and economy places above want, the following very low rates of prices for tuition shall be established...
For the alphabet, spelling & writing on slates: $0.25 cts
Continuance... with reading & arithmetical tables: $0.50 cts
Continuance of the last, with writing on paper, arithmetic & definitions: $1.00
The proceeding with grammar, geography, the use of maps & globes, book keeping...: $2.00"
